Understanding your score

The points test is published and unambiguous. What is not published is the score that will actually get you invited — that moves every round and varies enormously by occupation.

Questions about the points test

Sixty-five points is the minimum required to lodge an Expression of Interest, but it is not the score that receives invitations. Competitive scores for Subclass 189 have generally sat between 85 and 95 points, and higher for accounting and ICT occupations. Subclass 190 and 491 often invite lower because nomination adds 5 or 15 points.
