Questions
Work & Employer Sponsored — common questions
Yes. First-time sponsors are common. In Australia the business applies for Standard Business Sponsorship, which requires evidence of lawful operation and financial capacity. In New Zealand the employer applies for accreditation. We handle the employer-side application alongside yours, and most first-time approvals are straightforward for an established business.
Often, but not automatically. In Australia, Subclass 482 holders can transition to Subclass 186 permanent residence via the Temporary Residence Transition stream after a qualifying period with the sponsoring employer. In New Zealand, AEWV holders in Green List Tier 2 or higher-paid roles have defined work-to-residence pathways. We map the specific route at the outset so nothing is left to chance.
In most cases yes. Australian Subclass 482 and 186 partners receive full work rights. New Zealand AEWV partners can apply for an open or dependent work visa subject to the principal's role and pay level. EU Blue Card holders' spouses receive labour-market access in most member states.
Australian Subclass 482 applications with an accredited sponsor can be decided in as little as 4 to 8 weeks. New Zealand AEWV typically takes 4 to 10 weeks once the job check is approved. EU national work permits vary widely, from 4 weeks in Poland to several months in Germany depending on credential recognition.
